February Update

In February so many folks donated food items, feminine hygiene items, toiletries, blankets/comforters, dog food, bottled water, gloves, hats, socks, ponchos, sweatshirts and sweaters. Your donations have greatly been appreciated by all those I have met at the camp, even the DPS troopers that are offered a loaf of bread. It has made their day that much better and mine too. The personal touch shows them that others do care about their plight and want to help them in any way we can. A BIG Thank You to donors Rita Scopinich, Lara Gibson, Genevieve Johnson, Kyle Witt, Julie Liu, Cathy Bingaman, Barb Bearden, Mary Lou Batlan and Mary Lane. If I missed any one, please let me know. If you put a donation on my porch, please have your name on it so that you can be thanked. 

Of course, snowmageddon hit the Austin area with a vengeance a few weeks back. Many folks camped out in the TOOF building and a majority were bused to warming centers but many of their personal belongings were ruined. They are in need of sleeping bags for the folks who could not salvage theirs. There is a Coleman Brazos Cold Weather Sleeping Bag on Amazon for $35 but if you would like to donate money, I can place an order. My Venmo is @Greta-Irvin. Our neighborhood and others in nearby neighborhoods have been so generous with donations and that says a lot about your compassion for others who are less fortunate.
